Stroll Architecture & History A lot has changed since Cape Charles was established in the 1880s, but the town’s historic district still looks strikingly similar today. Stepping back in time is as easy as taking a stroll down one of our streets and appreciating one of the largest concentrations of turn-of-the-century buildings on the East Coast.
Historic Homes See examples of Victorian, Colonial Revival, Craftsman, and Neo-classical homes in the Historic District dating from the 1880s to the early 1900s.
Historic Palace Theatre This art deco theatre on Mason Avenue was designed by German architect Alfred Lublin and built in 1942.
Cape Charles Memorial Library The oldest library on Virginia’s Eastern Shore is located on the corner of Mason Avenue and Pine Street.
